WOFS - The Ultimate Write-Only File System

Infinite Storage. Unbreakable Security. Absolute Safety.

Welcome to WOFS (Write-Only File System)—the pinnacle of modern file storage technology. Forget traditional storage limitations—WOFS offers infinite capacity, unparalleled security, and absolute privacy by redirecting all data to /dev/null. Its the last file system you will ever need!

🚀 Key Features

🔥 Infinite Storage

  • Never worry about running out of space again!
  • Every file you write is instantly stored... somewhere
  • Supports files of any size—from 1 byte to 1 Yottabyte or more!

🛡️ Unbreakable Security

  • Data cannot be stolen, leaked, or hacked—because its immediately discarded!
  • Ransomware-proof: Attackers can encrypt your files, but they will never find them.
  • No need for backups—WOFS automatically ensures no data exists to lose!

High-Performance

  • Ultra-fast write speeds—near-instantaneous, faster than RAM.
  • Zero read latency—because reads are impossible!
  • Minimal resource usage—disk I/O is completely eliminated.

🏆 Industry-Grade Reliability

  • Eliminates file corruption entirely—nothing can be corrupted if it doesnt exist.
  • No file fragmentation—because there are no files.
  • 100% uptime—since WOFS handles all write operations flawlessly.

🕵️ Privacy First

  • 100% GDPR, HIPAA, and NSA compliant—because data is instantly erased.
  • No forensic recoverability—even the best data recovery tools will find... nothing.
  • Perfect for secretive projects—nobody will ever access your data (including you!).

📦 Installation & Compilation

🔧 Step 1: Install Kernel Headers

Ensure you have Linux kernel headers installed:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y linux-headers-$(uname -r) build-essential

🛠 Step 2: Clone & Compile WOFS

git clone https://github.com/wofs-team/wofs.git
cd wofs
make

🚀 Step 3: Load the WOFS Module

sudo insmod wofs.ko

📂 Step 4: Mount the Infinite Storage System

sudo mount -t wofs none /media/WOFS

🔥 Step 5: Experience True Storage Freedom

Try writing a file:

echo "This is top secret!" > /media/WOFS/important.txt
ls -l /media/WOFS

✔ The write operation completes successfully!
✔ The file system remains empty—ensuring maximum privacy and efficiency!

How to Unmount and Remove WOFS

If, for some reason, you no longer want absolute security and unlimited storage, you can remove WOFS:

sudo umount -l /media/WOFS
sudo rmmod wofs

🛠 Troubleshooting

Can I read files from WOFS?

Absolutely not. This is a write-only file system. If you need to read files, consider a less secure storage solution.

Can I recover deleted files?

Theres nothing to recover. All data is securely discarded at write time, ensuring maximum security.

Why does ls /media/WOFS show nothing?

This is expected behavior. Your files exist only in concept, not in reality. Rest assured, they are as safe as they can be.

💡 Use Cases

WOFS is the perfect solution for: ✔ Government Agencies - Eliminate data leaks before they happen.
Tech Startups - Implement zero-storage architecture for efficiency.
Cloud Providers - Offer "infinite storage plans" without using disk space.
Security Researchers - Safely discard logs and test files with no traces.
AI Training - Instantly discard large datasets after processing.
Developers - Prevent unnecessary disk bloat in testing environments.
Secret Projects - Ensure no digital evidence of work ever exists.

WOFS is a parody-level storage solution. It is not suitable for actual data retention and should not be used where data persistence is required. The developers assume no responsibility for lost data (which is the entire point of this file system).

WOFS is open-source and licensed under the GPLv2. Fork it, modify it, but remember—you cant store any changes inside WOFS!
